About DiveTalia

Built on a quiet bay, held to a high standard.

A dive centre shaped by people who believe the Aegean deserves the same seriousness as any far-flung expedition: the same care as a guest in one's own home.

Our story

The deep was never the destination. It was the way home.

DiveTalia began with divers who had logged their thousands of hours abroad, on rebreathers under polar ice, in caves, on deep wrecks, and kept returning to the same conclusion: the waters of home, the Carian coast around Bodrum, offered diving as rich as anywhere. Archaeologically it was the richest place on earth, and almost nobody was doing it justice.

So we built the centre we wished existed: state-of-the-art equipment maintained without shortcuts, a technical programme run to international standards, boats chosen for the sea rather than the brochure, and a base on Aspat Bay where history stands at the waterline.

We stay deliberately small. Fewer guests, senior staff, no queues at the compressor: diving as it should feel.

Our mark

The crest we dive under.

The Ionic column and the regulator-masked figure, ringed by an ancient border: a mark drawn where the Carian coast meets the deep. This is the original, in full colour: the same crest that now carries our brass and navy.

What we hold to

Five pillars. No exceptions.

I
Service

Guests, not customers. Gear rinsed and staged before you ask; briefings in your language; nothing left to chance or queue.

II
Quality

Current-generation equipment, serviced on schedule, retired early. The RIB, the yacht, the units: chosen for the sea, not the brochure.

III
Reliability

The boat leaves when we said it would. The plan survives the weather because we planned for the weather.

IV
Value

Not the cheapest hour in Bodrum: the fullest. Small groups, long dives, senior guides: the price buys depth, not volume.

V
Safety

Technical-diving discipline applied to every dive, including the easy ones. Redundancy, checklists, O₂ on both boats, DAN protocols.

The conical hill above Aspat Bay seen from the air, rising straight out of the sea, with the beach, the jetty and the anchorage below it and the Aegean stretching beyond.
The base

Aspat: a harbour older than the maps.

Aspat has sheltered sailors since antiquity: a natural bay beneath a hill known in antiquity as Strobilos, on the sea road between Halicarnassus and the open Aegean. Terraces, cisterns and worked stone still surface along its slopes.

Our centre sits at its waterline. The house reef begins at the beach; the RIB clears the bay mouth in two minutes; and twenty minutes across the water, the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology holds what these same seas gave up: the world's great collection of ancient shipwrecks.

You dive where archaeology happened, and surface where it's kept.

The team

Few people. Serious hours.

Every guide at DiveTalia is instructor-rated or above; the technical programme is led by eCCR instructor-trainers.

Founder & Chief Instructor
PADI Tec Trimix Diver Instructor · RAID SF2 · Trimix Diver Instructor · MA Underwater Archaeology

Fırat is the Eros of diving: he makes everyone fall in love with it. Hardly anyone walks away from one of his courses, and divers who arrived afraid of the water have gone on to advanced levels.

Crew & Guide
Seafarer · Three-star discovery dive specialist

A certified seafarer and a three-star discovery dive specialist, Mirsat is usually the one who takes a first-time diver into the water, and also the one who fixes what nobody else can: compressors, engines, and whatever else the season decides to break.

Ekin Kurfal, DiveTalia
Ekin Kurfal
Guide & Discovery Dives
National water polo player · Fin swimmer · Three-star discovery dive specialist

A national water polo player and a competitive fin swimmer before she was a diver. Ekin came to this from the pool and it shows on a discovery dive: nobody is calmer with someone taking their first breath underwater.

In the world

Where the diving world meets, we have a stand.

DiveTalia takes Bodrum to the divers before they ever board the plane. Each season the stand travels the major European and American dive shows, so the guests who later step off in Bodrum already know our briefing style.
